curriculum - WORLD MUSIC WITH INSTRUMENT MAKING

Dr. Woodson has one curriculum on world music with instrument making:

K-8 World Musical Instrument Making (WIM)

• Written: between 1991 and 2011
• Available: in paper form at the workshop
• Workshop types: Introduction (WIMI in OH and CA) and course (WIMC in OH)
• Workshop locations: 4 in Ohio & California
• Use all families of sound: drums, idiophones, strings and wind instruments
• Make up to 36 musical instruments from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas
• Teach world music along with core academic subjects by making simple instruments

Includes references to the Roots of Rhythm curriculum.
