2011 Highlights

  • Presented Roots of Rhythm at Educators Day, for NAMM Foundation

  • Presented Drum Circles and Drum Making for Homeless Stand Down in Cleveland, Ohio

  • Presented Workshops at Children's Hospital of Orange County, California.

2010 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Presented to all Los Angeles Unified School District music, art, dance and drama teachers.

  • Designed new drums that combine Remo Sound Shapes and simple materials.

  • Completed first year as Director of Roots of Rhythm for Percussion Marketing Council, presenting teacher workshops around the United States.

  • Began new NGO Drums of Humanity, using drumming, instrument making, and music therapy for peace-building around the world.

2009 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Presented a residency in Yogyakarta, Indonesia working with earthquake victims, students, teachers and professional musicians, on a U.S. State Department grant through UCLA (January 2009).

  • Presented workshops with Lost Boys of Sudan Center in Phoenix, Arizona bringing drum circles and drum making to help rekindle cultural life (March 2009).

2008 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Presented a three-week residency for the St. Louis Symphony and the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts with elementary, middle and high school students.

  • Drum circles and musical instrument-making programs to assist with conflict mediation and cultural healing in Iraq; co-facilitated with music therapist Christine Stevens.

  • Educational play-along concert with Kronos Quartet at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall.
